So here is what I started with
And this is where I ended up
I took the smaller washers and made them into earrings
I still lack in photography skills but getting better. I used a dragon fly & hearts from B'sue Boutiques, tried my hand at wire wrapping some beads and voila - still have some washers left over. I painted them shades of green on one side and shades of blue on the other. It was so much fun.
Trying out different forms - the room has sky lights so I do get some wonderful sunshine.

I am seeing more and more components altered with the Vintaj inks! This looks like it was such a fun project! Your dragon fly is an awesome addition! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteOh My Gerry this is quite a statement piece. The Vintaj inks on the washers was brilliant. I'd love to see a close up. You certainly breathed new life into the necklace. Thank you so much for participating and I hope you will join me for the 5th Do Over Challenge.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that dragon fly, nice job! [You might want to consider taking off the captcha from your blog]
ReplyDeleteAnother new technique to try...the inks added such a beautiful pop of color!
ReplyDeleteThe inks were a perfect choice. I would love to see closer pictures too ( you can just crop them). The dragonfly is great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to up date an already lovely necklace, and agree with others. The dragonfly is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marlene. It was a new experience all around. First time with the inks and wire wrapping. Now to get organized and play with my polymer clay.
DeleteLove the dragonfly addition and the Vintaj inks on the washers!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Dragonflies are just so cool, and I just love the green patina. The vintaj inks work so well I was really quite amazed.
DeleteInks, the perfect solution for reinventing the starting point -way-ta-go!
ReplyDeleteThanks. It was my first time playing with the inks and they worked beautifully. I still have a way to go with my wire wrapping but practice makes perfect.
DeleteWhat a great idea for the washers, the colors really pop! And I love the dragonfly.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I just wanted to see if the vintaj would work on the raw metal and it sure did. I am really loving dragonflys
DeleteWow, the patinas really made those washers into something extra special. Love it.
